Dr. Diana Gonzalez-Edmonds

Dr. Diana Gonzalez-Edmonds has been working in the veterinary field since the age of 14. In 1999 she graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Science, and in 2003 she graduated cum laude from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Gonzalez-Edmonds has also studied Acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and she became a licensed veterinary acupuncturist in 2005 when she graduated from the Chi Institute. She focuses her veterinary practice on preventive medicine and is very excited about educating her clients.

 

Dr. Gonzalez-Edmonds was born in the Philippines and has also lived in Hong Kong, Australia, and London. Dr. Gonzalez-Edmonds has a Chinese Crested Powederpuff (Ming Ming), a Golden Doodle (Bagel), 3 mini donkeys, 2 ponies, 1 mini horse, many chickens, and a Uromastyx lizard (which you can see at the office), and she enjoys family time with husband John, daughter Corinne, and son Evan Felix.

Dr. Julie Zugelder

As a long time practitioner, Dr. Julie enjoys the family-like bond she shares with patients and clients alike.

 

She and Tom Mullins have been happily married since their graduation from Purdue's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1981, and they are blessed with 3 wonderful sons. Their 4 legged family members depend on who needs a safe haven at the moment. Dr. Julie is delighted to be part of the team at Animal General Hospital.

Dr. Amy Black

Dr. Amy Black is a University of Florida graduate. She received her Bachelor's degrees in Animal Sciences and Microbiology (2000 and 2001) and DVM in 2006 also from UF. Dr. Black completed her internship from 2006-2007 in the Chicago area, then went on to private practice in Seattle from 2007-2010.

 

She is a current member of FVMA, AVMA and Caloosa VMA. Dr. Black has three cats and two dogs. She loves family time, boating, Gator sports, exercise, and cooking.

Dr. Sharon Kunkler

Dr. Sharon Kunkler graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. She practiced veterinary medicine in the Indianapolis, Indiana area for 30 years.

 

After tiring of the cold, her 2 and 4 legged family members relocated to SWFL at the end of 2020. She has been working with the Animal General Hospital family since February 2022. She loves the weather, an avid gardner  and is grateful to have been able to trade snow for sand.

Dr. Ashlee Flanagan

Dr. Ashlee Flanagan received her Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Mount Ida College in Newton, MA. She worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston for a few years prior to applying to veterinary school.

 

She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2016 and moved to Fort Myers, FL the following week! She has worked in several aspects of veterinary medicine including general practice and ER medicine. Dr. Ashlee also helps care for aquatic animals at a local aquarium. In her free time, Dr. Flanagan enjoys being outdoors, boating, reading, and spending time with her husband and their 3 boys.

Dr. Anna Fonts

Dr. Anna Fonts graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2014. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2018.

 

Dr. Fonts’ special interests include weight and osteoarthritis management, dentistry and client education. She lives in Fort Myers with her husband, daughter and two dogs, Sunny (Golden Retriever) and Domino (Australian Shepherd Mix).
